Nimi Places
This is an extremely simple, yet brilliant tool! I only came across this program after searching the web for 4 weeks looking for something like it. Nimi Places lets you put one or more containers on your desktop that show the files that are present in a specific folder.
I use it as a 'to do' place for documents I mustn't forget to take care of.

Notepad ++
Description
A must-have! This is a replacement tool for the standard and useless Windows notepad. It contains MUCH more features! Once you're used to it, you won't be able to imagine how you managed with MS Notepad!
Has some very usefull features for coders and programmers.

Winmerge
Description
Very usefull little program that allows you to compare 2 text files and merge them. It highlights the differences between 2 files.

KDiff3
Description
This is similar to WinMerge, but allows to compare 3 files simultaneously.
For some reason, I just like WinMerge better.

xplorer² Lite
Description
Have you ever been thinking it would just be so much easier if Windows explorer would have 2 panes? This little program has just that... and much more! This is how explorer should have been made! Freecommander
Description
This is very similar to xplorer². Also offers loads of features, but I just like xplorer² better. Probably because I'm used to it.

Safarp
Description
If you want to remove software in Windows you probably do it using the Windows add/remove programs utility, but this takes forever to load. Safarp does the same thing, but loads in a fraction of a second.

7-Zip
Description
This compression tool is completely free, open source and compresses much better than WinZip and the likes. Not only does it handle ZIP, GZIP, BZIP2, TAR, RAR, CAB, ISO files and some other obscure formats, but it also uses the 7z compression method which allows for much better compression.

WindirStat
Description
Do you ever wonder where all that hard disk space went? WindirStat presents the space that is occupied by every folder and files on your hard disk in a very user friendly interface. Other programs circle the net that will do the same thing, but this is the best one I feel!

TweakUI
Description
Microsoft actually has some software titles they offer for free! They call these Power Tools. The best one is TweakUI which allows you to tweak (duh!) you Windows system.
